Well the sun came back out today but it didn’t do me much good.
Despite seeing where I was going I still managed to catch a gate near the top of the course and nearly had a very nice yard sale.
Thankfully I skied through it and carried on but the ripple effect followed me down the track and I ended up missing a gate at the bottom – tough cookies but what can you do?
Overall it was a good experience and I think I learned a few things I’ll use at next year’s Super-G here.
Now my focus is tomorrow’s downhill – which I’m pretty pumped about. The sun is supposed to be shining again on Saturday – so it should be a good race.
Hope you enjoy it as much as I will.

Dear Manny
Congratulations on a great year so far. I’m not sure if you remember me but I remember a young guy that I skied with many years ago at Whistler. Your Mom, Jane and my sister Suzanne Johnston are good friends and I’m looking forward to coming to Whistler to watch some of the events. I’m not sure that I will be able to make the Downhill (but will try) but I plan to be there to watch the Slalom guys on the 27th (a group of businessmen and I decided to sponsor Julien Cousineau on the team this year. I used to race on the team with his dad Alain Cousineau. I wish you continued success on the circuit this year and the Olympics. I love your positive attitude and great confidence that you have in yourself. This is the key to success in anything that you will do in your life.
All the best and I hope to meet you at some point.
Cheers!
Danny
